The Groom

Reymart was born in a simple town called Santa Lucia located in the beautiful province of Ilocos Sur, where he was raised by his father, Roberto Calangian and mother, Elvira Hombrebueno. He went to college for a year and a half at Nothern Philippines College for Maritime, Science and Technology pursuing Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation until one day, life had other plans for him where he had to drop out of college and move to the United States of America along with his mother and two younger brothers to join their grandparents. With new opportunities coming his way, he then went on to fulfill his long-term goal since he was a kid, to join the United States Navy. He was then sent to basic training on July 18, 2012 at Great Lakes, Illinois. After two months, he proceeded to “A” school at Meridian Mississippi to learn and study for his naval profession. After completing all the trainings required, he was then sent to serve at Pacific Fleet stationed in Yokosuka, Japan where he met the love of his life, Sabrina Paranis.

The Bride

Sabrina was born to Emelita Guevara and Florencio Paranis on October 30th year 1991. She was raised by her grandparents whom she owes half of her life as a kid and as a teenager. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at De La Salle University Dasma. She then moved to Tokyo to live and work with her mom. After a year of working outside her career path, she was employed to a web company and is working as a full stack web developer up to now. She loves artistry, design and digital media arts. She loves cats and dogs and is very fond of music. Above all, she loves travelling and weekend escapades where she fell in love with the groom.

Our Story

The groom and the bride met through their mutual friends Paul Pangog and Andrea Sinsay. After a few more months, they decided to become more close as friends, they talked frequently on the phone. They started hanging out and going on weekend escapades to places outside Tokyo. Their first out of town road trip was in Nagoya about 6 hours away from Tokyo.

They started to feel for each other during their trip in Nagano where they stayed in a “Ryokan” and hiked Kamikochi (the Land of the Gods). “It was such a beautiful place, you can’t help but fall in love. Not only have I fell in love with the place but I fell in love with the person I am with on that trip. I felt safe, it feels like home. – Bride”.

After a few more months, the groom confessed about his feelings for the bride in a house party. On March 10, 2018, the groom proposed to the bride in Yokohama, where they first met.

Wedding Theme

Classic romantic with a modern twist of blue and sage is the theme I always dream of. I like to keep it minimal and put together but we are both artistic and loves history so we want to add the rustic feel to it. We hope everyone can enjoy the calming sensation of a garden wedding with a soothing lake breeze. As my bestfriend once asked me, why this theme and color? I simply answered, "because I fell in love with him facing the mountains". As magical as I remembered, we went to go hiking in Kamikochi (Land of the Gods) as Japanese people call it, where the colors are in shades of sage, grey and blue - thus signifies the color of the forest, mountain, and lake.
